Franz Klammer won downhill gold in Innsbruck in 1976 – and a whole nation watched.

Franz Klammer’s gold ride on the Patscherkofel, Thomas Muster’s Grand Slam triumph in Roland Garros or Hans Krankl’s winning goal against the West German kickers in Cordoba: What great deed shaped the century of sport when viewed with red, white and red glasses? Each of these moments is associated with memories that have shaped an entire generation. In the House of History of Lower Austria an attempt is made to pour the emotional subject area into an exhibition form: “I who foolish!” reflects a century of Austrian sports history.
