Boston Terrier Rescue – Frequently Asked Questions About This Popular Association

What is Boston Terrier Rescue about?

This association helps house unwanted or abandoned Boston Terriers. They manage the adoptions of these Terriers and also establish emergency rescues. They help lonely and orphaned Terriers.

Terriers that are not in good health or those that are old and carry a disease are neglected, as they will not be available for adoption later. Boston Terrier Rescue will ask owners of these Terriers to make better choices.

Why are Boston Terriers being rescued?

Boston Terrier Rescue primarily adopts dogs that were actually unwanted by their owners. They admit that the dog was of no use to them or that they were unable to pay enough attention to them. Sometimes owners even complain that these dogs are among all their activities and commitments. The dogs were rescued from those kinds of people who had no idea but to sell them.

Is it possible to use the adopted dog for breeding?

The organization totally despises the idea. In fact, they advise all owners of this type of dog to use the dog as a pet. As a process, dogs have been forced to spay or neuter to control the rate of reproduction. And furthermore, these terriers are not great varieties by the usual breed standards. These Terriers generally do not have any pedigree or ancestry that can be consulted prior to any breeding process.

Can I adopt a female Terrier?

Female Terriers are believed to be a more affectionate breed and tend to only abandon males that are between two and six years old. But male Terriers are very receptive and sweet if given proper care and attention. The gender of these Terriers shouldn’t really matter during adoption, as all rescued ones are saved as breeders. BTR performs the proper placement to aid in this.

What can happen if the owner delivers a Boston terrier?

There are owners who actually come forward to take care of their dogs’ medical expenses, which may also include neutering and spaying. Donations are expected from an owner to care for the dog and help it find its new home and owner.

Will I be charged to adopt a dog?

Having a dog is not an easy thing, as the owner is expected to be financially stable to cover all medical expenses and expenses of the dog.

How does the adoption of these dogs really happen?

How do you help yourself?

1. For breeders

Breeders are generally informed about selling the Boston terrier to anyone if they discover that the new home is suitable. Have decent houses reserved for them.

Breeding should be avoided if the breeder does not have a competent and enjoyable breeding program.

2. For others

Have enough knowledge about these dogs before you buy them. Make sure you can meet their physical and mental needs.

It should be clear that the terrier does not suit everyone alone. You have to make some compromises and own the dog.

Donations are welcome at any time for the placement of these dogs. It totally depends on the volunteer.
