With Element IQ you program on your plate (eg pizza, roast, muffins, cookies, bread, casserole, toast) and the oven knows what the temperature should be, how long it should cook and if the convection mode should be used or not. You also know which heating elements to use and where: on top of the plate, under the plate, or both above and below.

This can make a big difference between a pizza with a crusty or soggy base, between an evenly raised pie and one with a split in the middle, or between an evenly cooked roast roast and one that is charred on the outside and rare on the inside. The Element IQ system also ensures that the temperature remains constant throughout the cooking time.

There are other smart design features in the Breville Smart Oven, including the smart way the magnets in the door automatically pull out the shelf and the non-stick interior that makes cleaning a piece of cake.

It has an easy-to-read backlit control panel and the timer automatically turns the oven off at the end of the cook cycle. This is an important safety feature, as many other ovens simply tell you that the time is up, but do not turn the oven off.
