Choosing an online poker site
There are hundreds of online poker sites, but which one to choose? To avoid a bad experience, first of all, do your research.
Check poker forums and blogs for information on poker sites that interest you. Are people happy or unhappy with their experience on a particular site? Other people’s experience is almost always the best factor in determining which site to choose. Also read the fine print. Most, if not all, of these sites allow you to play for free (with play money).
Try it out first to familiarize yourself with the site. Are the graphics good, is the user interface easy to use, etc.? How is the atmosphere? All these are important factors when choosing a site to play for a long time. Most sites have all kinds of offers to attract new players, some match your money 100%, others offer reloaded bonuses, free stuff books, odds calculator software. Only check the offers after you have checked the reputation of the sites.
Be selective. Another thing when choosing a poker site is “they have the games I want”. Not everyone wants to play Texas Hold’em, so check to see if they have the games that interest you the most. If you are a beginner, look for rooms where there is a low limit.
It is also very important, to find a poker room where there is not much competition, to avoid rooms where there are sharks as they sometimes play in rooms with inexperienced players. Have fun playing online poker.
