Empowerment Through Prenatal Yoga – Online Certification
Prenatal Yoga
Empowerment Through Prenatal Yoga: Online Certification is 85+ hours of learning that will provide a framework to support your pregnant students and launch you into your future career as a birth doula. Learn how to integrate the ancient practice of yogic asana with doula philosophy and knowledge of the modern physiology of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
You’ll also explore how to adapt yoga poses and class sequencing for each trimester to safely lead expectant women through a conscious + connected birthing experience. You’ll become familiar with yoga nidra, meditation and other mindfulness practices to help your students relax deeply during a difficult time.
The prenatal ytt online course will help you gain a deeper understanding of the science behind each aspect of the training so that you can share this powerful wisdom with your future pregnant students and birthing families. Throughout this training you’ll get the opportunity to connect with other empowered leaders in our nurturing conscious community and expand your network of support.

Each of the modules will be taught through a combination of live webinars and self-paced video. This gives you the flexibility to move through each module at your own pace, and revisit and re-watch any part of the training that you need to fully understand the material. This is a big advantage over traditional teacher trainings, where you often need to take notes and can forget things the moment you leave the room!
This is a unique prenatal yoga training that includes both online and in-person teaching, so you can attend the training with other students from all over the world, or stay home and learn in the comfort of your own space. You’ll be able to ask questions and participate in discussions from anywhere in the world.
You’ll learn about the history of yoga and birth, and which teachers were instrumental in bringing prenatal yoga into the modern yoga community. You’ll also understand how certain postures can be practiced during pregnancy to promote what is called “optimal fetal positioning.” When babies have optimal mobility, they are less likely to lodge in the maternal pelvis in a position like occiput posterior or military and are more inclined to have a natural birth with no need for intervention.
You’ll also explore the ways in which hormonal changes, weight gain and the growth of the uterus affect a woman’s body structure and alignment. This will give you an understanding of how to modify yoga poses and create class sequences for each trimester, taking into account the skills and abilities of your students.
