home remedies for dry skin

Dry skin does not have a permanent cure, but the skin can be softened and smoothed using some remedies. More popularly, lotions and creams are used to soothe dry skin. Using a mild soap or cleansing body wash may temporarily eliminate the problem. However, this option can be quite expensive if the skin is genetically dry or just exceptionally dry. Certain remedies can be used to soothe dry skin at home.

A face mask made from vitamin-rich fruits and water can have a good effect on dry skin. Some of the fruits that can be used are papaya, peach and banana. Avocado puree can also be applied to the skin for a glowing effect. A smooth or moisturizing lotion can follow these masks to lock in the moisture produced by the mask. It is recommended to use oil-based lotions in such cases. Moisture should always be applied in upward circular motions.

Night creams containing alpha hydroxy acids can be used as a night cream for fresh skin in the morning. These are oilier than regular creams and work more effectively for longer at night.

A diet consisting of a large amount of vitamin A, vitamin B and vitamin E can be taken for an inner glow in the skin. Leafy vegetables are the ones that help the most to replenish the moisture of the skin. Water intake should be greatly increased to help the body have the necessary amount of fluids. Fruit juices are also considered very helpful in softening the skin.

Rose water, almond oil, honey, olive oil, and whipped curd can all be used as good face masks. Aside from this, daily massage or facial sauna with herbal oils and the use of mild detergent and fragrance-free soap can work wonders on dry skin.
