“IN THE CENTER”: One year of the pandemic – What happened to the “alliance”?

Vienna (OTS) – These days it will be the first year of the first corona-related lockdown in Austria. In the past twelve months, people had to learn to live with a wide variety of restrictions, whether privately, at work or in everyday life. The fight against the pandemic has become a long-term project, and politicians also had to find out. Little is noticeable of the initial “solidarity”. The dispute over the right strategy not only divides the government and the opposition, the individual parties also have different positions. Low infection numbers are fueling resistance to the lockdown, across Austria you can feel a “Corona fatigue” overall, the protest is meanwhile also being carried out on the street. How did the pandemic not only change Austria and its people this year, but also politics? How constructive is the search for the right strategy in the fight against the pandemic? How much political explosive power is there in this crisis, the end of which is not in sight?
