Incredible but true: a dolphin spotted in the port of Amsterdam

A bottlenose dolphin arrived in the port of Amsterdam on Saturday after passing through the IJmuiden locks from the North Sea Canal, the SOS Dolfijn association indicates on Facebook.

A team from SOS Dolfijn tries to escort the animal out of the port. The association also calls not to go to the port to see the dolphin because this could disrupt the rescue operation.

The marine mammal had been following a sailboat from France for three days. The ship was headed for Amsterdam.

The bottlenose dolphin is a species that can measure up to four meters.
