Karmic astrology and your natal chart

In karmic terms, what do you have going for you in this lifetime? Is this a time to clear hard karma? Or a life of relaxation, full of easy blessings? How have your past lives been? Are there lessons that you have been repeating over and over again for centuries? What is the source of your greatest joy?

Your birth chart contains a wealth of information that, if interpreted correctly, helps you heal or transform old karmas, increasing your well-being and allowing you to make the most of your time on earth to accelerate your spiritual growth. Working with karma is pretty much the whole point of being in a body, and correctly understanding your karma can point you to the ones you’re most ready to get rid of. How does this work?

Being born is never an accident. Between lives, your soul reviews its most recent incarnation and all of its previous lives to make decisions about the life to come. You choose all the major events in your life (including birth and death), the other key players, what problems and challenges you want to face, and what tools you have in your karma bag that you want to take with you. Unfortunately, for most of us, once we enter a body, we don’t remember the decisions we made. However, because a soul chooses the time of birth to reflect its decisions astrologically, clues to its plans for this incarnation can be found in the horoscope.

For example, if Libra is on the cusp of your 10th house, authority in all its forms is an important theme in your life. Healing occurs when you learn to exercise authority with compassion. Then naturally you will get the recognition you crave. If your moon is in the sixth house, you have committed to helping others. To feel emotionally secure, you need to feel useful. The rest of your graph can indicate what form that service is likely to take.

Karmic astrology charts the growth course of the soul. If you’re wondering who or what you were in the past, the chart gives you an idea of the kinds of experiences you’ve had; the kind of life you have led; possible karmic debts you have incurred and those owed to you; and the habits, tendencies and patterns that you have brought with you now. However, a karmic reading is not specific about who or what you were in past lives. For specific details, you may want to consider having a past life regression.

When I had my first karmic reading in my early 20s, the astrologer pointed out a karmic pattern that I had already repeated several times but had never recognized as a pattern. As he explained to me the issues involved, the underlying tensions, and the way karma worked, he freed me to start learning new ways to work things out. Now karma no longer rules me. I handle those situations with more joy and in a clearer, more conscious way.

This revelation and transformation of karma is the goal of karmic astrology.
