Our travels in the north-western province of South Africa

The Magaliesberg Mountains make an ideal weekend retreat or romantic getaway. Due to the proximity of the Johannesburg International Airport, the Magaliesberg is also the perfect first night stop on the way to Sun City or Madikwe Game Reserve. The great entertainment mecca of Sun City offers unparalleled entertainment. With a variety of play and entertainment opportunities, two Gary Player designed golf courses, horse and elephant back safaris, the water park and Valley of the Waves, there is something for everyone.

In the adjacent Pilanesberg Game Reserve there are a variety of luxurious lodges and comfortable Park Board lodgings. Clients can drive through the park or choose a guided walk, hike, or hot air balloon safari. The Pilanesberg offers the opportunity to see the ‘Big Five’ and the prolific birdlife.

Another attraction of the Northwest Province is the Madikwe Game Reserve. Also offering the ‘Big Five’, this game reserve is a joint venture between local communities, private lodge owners and the state and is best known for its sizeable population of beautiful and endangered African wild dogs.

Near Gauteng, the malaria-free northwest province offers visitors some of the best wildlife destinations in South Africa. Both Pilanesberg National Park and Madikwe Game Reserve provide excellent safari experiences with abundant birds and wildlife. Other attractions are hiking in the picturesque Magaliesberg Mountains, fishing in the rivers and dams, or simply relaxing on the selection of guest farms.
