Quick and easy drink and treat recipes for children’s Halloween parties

It’s fun flipping through Halloween books and magazines and imagining yourself crafting and cooking up all the holiday ideas. Then reality gets in the way. You probably don’t have an extra 30 hours to commit to putting together your kid’s Halloween party, so here are some super easy and affordable food and drink ideas to make your party a success.

Monster milk recipe

Encourage your mini monsters to wash their candy with a glass of milk.

Make monster milk by adding 3 drops of green food coloring to each 8-ounce glass of milk.

Mummy’s Hot Dog Recipe

Want your kids to eat some real food before trick-or-treating? Make some fun mummy hot dogs.

You will need to:

  • 11-ounce tube ready-to-bake loaf dough
  • 12 hot dogs
  • 1 egg
  • some water
  • a little mustard

Open the breadstick dough package and separate the dough strips. Wrap a strip around each hot dog. You’ll want to leave a space on the wrapper near one end. This leaves an area to add eyes to the mummy. Place the wrapped sausages on a greased baking sheet. Beat the egg with about a tablespoon of water and spread over the dough. Bake the wrapped hot dogs at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Use a toothpick to put mustard dots on the hot dogs to give Mom eyes.

Ghost finger sandwiches recipe

Find a ghost-shaped cookie cutter at a grocery or craft store. It should be approximately 3 to 4 inches in size.

Then you will need:

  • 24 slices of white bread
  • 12 slices of deli ham
  • 12 slices of American cheese
  • mustard and / or mayonnaise

Use your ghost cookie cutter to cut ghost shapes out of the bread. Cut the same shape of the cheese slices and the ham slices. Lightly spread mustard and / or mayonnaise on the ghost bread and apply a ghost cheese to half of the ghost breads. Then add the pieces of ham and finish assembling the sandwiches. I should make 12 ghost sandwiches.

Mad scientist punch recipe

Fill your cauldron at your Halloween party with this delicious green punch.

  • 12-ounce can of frozen concentrated orange juice, partially thawed.
  • 1 liter of white grape juice
  • 1-1 / 2 cups water
  • 5 drops of green food coloring
  • 2-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda
  • Garnish with an ice ring filled with spooky gummy candies.

In a large pitcher mix the juices, water, food coloring, then chill. Next, put the gummy candies like worms and fingers in a circular mold and fill with water. Freeze overnight or at least 8 hours. When it’s time to party, pour the chilled juice mixture into a punch bowl, slowly pour in the lemon-lime soda so it doesn’t bubble too much. Add the ice ring and serve.
