Review of Petit Paris Restaurant in Nottingham

It doesn’t take long for diners to fall in love with the Petit Paris restaurant in Nottingham. This centrally located Parisian-style bistro has wowed patrons since 1995, with delicious and beautifully prepared food in a relaxed and elegant setting. Owners Sergio and Jean-Louis are proud to have delivered an elegant continental oasis in the bustling city center of Nottingham. There is a choice of 3 dining rooms, each of which offers romantic and intimate dinners or small gatherings with family or friends. Those interested in hosting a larger event need not worry, as there is also a larger room available for private rental.

Guests can choose from dining options including an a la carte, pre-theater menu and a set menu for tables of 8 or more. While the main influence is classic French, there are also touches of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine throughout, ensuring plenty of flavor in every bite. Many of the a la carte appetizers are the perfect way to start a special meal. The winter fruit and melon salad is light and refreshing, while the smoked haddock, spinach and gnocchi gratin is rich and creamy. Try the Pheasant Chestnut Terrine with Apple, Raisin and Brandy Chutney and Toast for an incredible taste sensation! It doesn’t seem right for French restaurants in Nottingham to ignore the vast amount of fresh seafood available and Petit Paris certainly makes the most of it. The delicious seafood fricassee with mussels, prawns, scallops, and salmon cooked in a mild curry sauce with coconut milk is highly recommended, while the traditional mussels served with French fries are also an impressive option.

Pasta can be ordered as a starter or main course and served with garlic bread. Choose from homemade lasagna al forno or Jean-Louis tagliatelle with onion, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, cream, fresh basil and topped with sticky mozzarella cheese. The last pasta dish can also be served as a vegetarian option, while there’s also a tempting wild mushroom risotto topped with a free-range poached egg and grated Parmesan cheese. Meaty entrees include a succulent slow-roasted pork belly served with braised Savoy cabbage and its own cooking juice, and a venison steak cooked to order with celery gratin and blackcurrant sauce. As you would expect from Nottingham restaurants, there is also a great selection of steaks to choose from. The rump, sirloin or steak served with melted pepper or Stilton and port sauce or decadent Paris coffee butter is sure to please meat lovers.

Of course, what a meal would be complete without a completely outrageous dessert! Petit Paris offers guests a long list of tempting treats such as the orange panna cotta with anglaise cardamom cream, a chocolate and walnut pudding with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream or the rich and drunken Bailey parfait with Sambuca cream. Diners who wish to finish their meal with a plate of cheese are invited to share a glass of aged port, and for those with a sweet tooth, a dessert wine is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious dessert. With such an astonishing range of classic French dishes and top-notch service, it’s not hard to see why Petit Paris restaurant is one of Nottingham’s best restaurants.
