Shakti Mat Meditation: Can You Really Meditate On A Bed Of Nails?

When I first discovered the Shakti mat, an acupressure mat designed to increase the intensity of meditations while reducing the severity of various ailments, I admit that I had some doubts about its claims.

Mediation is a wonderful experience that requires nothing more than a calm mind. Why use a device like the Shakti mat? Can I really meditate on a bed of nails?
