Innsbruck – Suzuki’s cooperation with Toyota is bearing fruit: The Across has arrived in the dealers’ showrooms – it is a compact SUV that shares the technical basis with that of the RAV4.

Here, Suzuki restricts itself to offering the most technically sophisticated drive system: a plug-in hybrid. Two electric motors and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine achieve a system output of 306 hp and are able to accelerate Suzuki’s largest model from zero to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds. The top speed is 180 km / h, the average consumption is only one liter of fuel per 100 km. The CO2 emissions are estimated at 22 g / km. In reality, such low values can only be achieved if the future Across user mainly uses the vehicle for commuting and always uses a fully charged battery to keep the electric motors busy. The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 18.1 kilowatt hours – this enables a purely electric WLTP range of 75 kilometers.

The Across is therefore sporty and extremely economical – and it is extremely generously equipped. An all-wheel drive system and a continuously variable automatic system are installed ex works, and the vehicle also comes with 19-inch aluminum rims as standard. The tailgate opens electrically and is connected to a foot movement sensor. Full-LED headlights and LED rear lights are just as much part of the standard equipment as a heated windshield, darkened side windows at the rear (and rear) as well as rain and light sensors. There are also plenty of driver assistance systems and infotainment equipment including a 9-inch touchscreen. The Across costs 57,990 euros.
