Tailgating vs. Trunking

So you, your spouse or partner, and another couple head off to the big game where everyone is supposed to have a good time. Everyone got up early to pack up all the necessities and put them in their sport utility vehicle or truck. Your friends have their awkward backyard barbecue grill strapped to the bed of their two-seater truck to effectively withstand Category Five hurricane-force winds. The grill is equipped with a large steel chain and padlock to prevent theft while everyone enjoys the game. They also brought a large cooler that could hold enough drinks for the entire team and coaching staff, their lawn chairs, and a host of other routine paraphernalia, most of which also has a separate steel chain and padlock combination. You and yours are so loaded in your SUV, except maybe for the grill. You meet the others at a predetermined location at a set time and are ready to hit the road, when suddenly there is a delay because someone has to stop and fill up with gas. Now it’s time to hit the road for the two-hour drive to the stadium. About thirty minutes into the trip, you are trying to relax from all the preparations and delays; You’re wishing you could all get together to chat and have a good time on the road, but there’s just too much going on for one vehicle. You also hope you don’t get separated in traffic because when you get to the stadium you want to be able to park next to each other.

Wait a minute; You suddenly realize this is supposed to be fun and relaxing with friends! You realize that when you get to the stadium, unpack, eat, repack, watch the game, and drive back, the fun factor drops considerably. The only time you can spend with your friends is at the stadium.

Why not use compact, portable products that fold, close and store in a much smaller space? Now all friends can ride in a car and have fun on the road. The SUV or pickup will no longer be a requirement for game day; Let’s face it, the car probably gets better gas mileage anyway!

Some great ideas might include a compact, folding, portable picnic table that seats four, a gas grill and cooler combo pack that keeps drinks cold and stores the grill, an insulated picnic basket for perishables, four folding stadium seats with storage pockets and carry straps, and an insulated tote bag for condiments, paper plates, etc.

Now we’re talking about a FUN trip with friends, less stuff, less hassle, and everything can be transported and stored in about a seven to eight cubic foot space, like the trunk of a car.

Let’s go Team!
