Der Sandero Stepway hebt sich unter anderem mit mehr Bodenfreiheit, einer schärfer konturierten Motorhaube und einer offensichtlichen Offroad-Beplankung von der Basisversion ab.

Vienna – Even the cheap ones are following suit: Dacia is known for a strictly calculated price-performance system, does not promise too much for a comparatively low tariff. Nevertheless, the Renault subsidiary label allows itself to take a quality boost from time to time – this will soon be reflected in the upcoming generation change in the small car segment. The Sandero needs a regular succession and with it the derived crossover model Stepway.

At first glance, a much fresher design is noticeable, especially in the arrangement of the radiator grille in connection with the headlights and the lower air intake. The most impressive thing is clearly the Stepway, which with 17 cm of ground clearance is four cm more than the normal Sandero variant. The plastic strips along the wheel arches and the side skirts as well as the underrun protection at the front and rear are also striking. The bonnet has more contours and there is also a roof rail. If you are on the lookout for another distinguishing feature, you will find it at the lower end of the radiator grille: Here the Stepway logo shines towards the viewer.

Not only the optics will benefit from the upcoming replacement, but also the technical equipment: The range includes full LED headlights and a range of driver assistance systems (blind spot warning system, emergency brake assistant). For now, two petrol engines (SCe 65 and TCe 90) are slated for the new Sandero, which is based on the new CMF platform used by Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi. (panty)
