Use these tactics in your next squirt gun fight!
Most squirt gun fights tend to happen spontaneously and there isn’t a lot of organization (which is fine, of course!) However, as we kick off the summer, with a lot of potential squirt gun battles on the horizon. , it may be. It’s a good idea to be aware of some tactics that can make you dominant in battle. These tactics can be especially helpful for those well-organized squirt fights with many of your friends.
We’ll start with something the military calls Total Operational and Situational Awareness (TOSA). That means you need to know where you are and what your situation is. What squirt guns, balloons, hoses do you have at your disposal? Who is on your side? Who are you enemies? How many of them are there? What weapons do they have? Ok this may seem pretty obvious, but you would be surprised how many fighters with squirt guns lose consciousness once a battle starts. You also need to know where your water supply is, this will become even more important as we study some basic maneuvers.
The ambush
Ambushing means attacking your enemies from a hidden place when they pass by. Bushes and trees were made to hide them. Houses, sheds, or other structures work great too. Organizing a good ambush requires some planning. You have to anticipate where your enemies will travel. Where do you think they will come looking for you? Will they go to your water supply to recharge (the water hose, or will they go back inside the kitchen, etc.)? Keeping these things in mind will help you organize an effective ambush!
Load
When you charge, you throw everything at your enemy at once. The idea is that you overwhelm them all at once so they don’t have to respond and defend themselves. For a good load, you need to make sure that all of your team members are ready and that their squirt guns are completely full. Load up some water balloons too, water balloons are a great way to surprise the enemy. Charges work best when you also have the element of surprise.
Envelopment
Wrapping is a classic technique that can be very effective. Divide your team and attack your enemy at the same time from different directions. This divides their attention and they are shot from many different directions. As with most of these techniques, the wrap works best when launching a surprise attack.
Using a decoy
When you use a decoy, you trick your enemies into attacking someone on your team to get them out of their current locations. You may want to do this to cut off their water supply or to lead them into an ambush. These are some good tactics to start with, but there are many more. In general, keep in mind that it also helps to have the right squirt guns for the right tactical situations. Know in advance if you will need large volume squirt guns like the Water Warriors Hydra Pak, or more explosive squirt guns like the Super Soaker Hydro Cannon. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the capabilities of the different squirt guns in advance.
