Garden blocks around trees: things to consider

Trees offer many benefits in any area. You can do a lot of good if you have a lot of them on your property. And to add more charm and design, you could have some gardening blocks around the trees. In this way, you can spend an afternoon sitting under a tree completely in the shade from the hot sun.

I have seen many garden blocks of different designs. Each offers its own beauty and charm. And if you want, you can also add a flowerbed to surround the tree. Talk about how to get the most out of a good landscaping idea.

Building a wall or block around a tree should be done with caution. Otherwise, you could damage the tree. Here are some practical steps to guide you through this project:

1. Mark the outline of the area where you are going to place the blocks. In this step, you must ensure that you provide the tree’s roots with adequate space for nutrition. A good 3-6 feet from the trunk would suffice, but you must also take into account the relative size of the tree.

To ensure that the block is built at an even distance, you can tie a rope at the base of the log. You can then simply use this as a guide to mark the area where you will place the blocks around the tree.

2. Once you have defined the circle where you are going to place the blocks, you need to dig 2-3 inches down. Make sure the roots of the tree are not damaged when you do this. After digging, you need to level the area where you will put the blocks. You can use a plate compactor if you have this tool to facilitate this process.

3. Establish the base of the block. For this step, you need to select the most uniform blocks you have. put the blocks in place. In some cases, you may need to adjust the blocks, use a rubber mallet, or even remove it to reattach the soil. This is done to ensure that the base is built evenly.

4. Stack the blocks to build the wall around the tree. Make sure the bricks or blocks are stacked in such a way as to make them very strong and durable. A good way to make sure of this is to alternate the joints the way you see most bricks being stacked. This is done to ensure that there are no continuous seams that make the entire structure likely to collapse easily.

5. Prepare and plant a bed or add ornaments. Some trees allow a plant bed to be added within the wall blocks, while other trees, such as oaks, release acid secretions, making it virtually impossible for any other plant to grow within the ring. In such a case you can add some designs to the blocks to make it nice to see even when you are alone.
