Spam notification should be improved

Anyone with an email account could relate to spam being sent to their accounts from time to time. Although most Internet Service Providers, or ISPs, today offer spam filters, other spam still gets filtered.

Spam emails can not only contain irrelevant information, but can also affect business flow. One drawback to receiving spam and having spam filters set up on your account is that a certain email can be filtered as spam even if it isn’t.

One instance of such activity is receiving a copy of your own email from a subscriber who claims the content of the email is vulgar, obscene, and profanity. For someone who receives this type of email, this is very frustrating. The content of the email may not be such, but to the subscriber, the email may look like spam.

Subscribers to America Online Inc, or AOL, are generally free to report that certain email may be spam. However, some users tend to ignore this and in turn show rudeness to other concerned people by reporting their email as spam. Having the freedom to report spam has its advantages and disadvantages. One drawback is that AOL subscribers may report emails as spam simply because they don’t like the content or simply don’t want to subscribe anymore. Either way, this has a negative impact on the sender of the email.

Once a person’s email is reported as spam, that person may have trouble sending other important emails from time to time. Sender data such as name, email address, subscription date and IP address are recorded. There are cases where email can be blocked and could not be delivered to its recipient. Also, recipients of such email from that person may receive the email as spam and may tend to send rude responses. Some may even go so far as to threaten the sender for sending spam without knowing that the sender is yet another victim.

Spam is really annoying, so there should be a more effective way to filter it.
