Writing for Greeting Cards – How to Write a Great Birthday Card

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be terrified of the inside of a birthday card. Know what you want to say to the recipient but just can’t start writing and put those feelings and thoughts into words and commit to the paper. This article will give you some great ideas for birthday greeting cards.

Many cards on the market have extensive verses on the front and inside. You can spend hours reading through them trying to find the right verse for the person you want to send the card to. Then you find the perfect envelope and it’s all wrinkled and dirty or you can’t find the right size envelope in the card holder! Perhaps you design and make your own cards and therefore have the entire verse or message to write yourself. Phoenix Trading cards are blank on the inside so you just need to choose the design you want, for example a fire truck, flower basket, cats, dogs, robots, butterflies, fairies and many more. Some designs have specific messages on the front such as “Happy Anniversary” or “Congratulations on your engagement.”

So, you are faced with the inside of a birthday card: what do you write? First you need to think about who the card is for. Is it for a close friend, wife, husband, colleague at work, or is it for your daughter or some distant cousin you’ve never met?

Here are some examples to get you started:
