5 important reasons why you should be an active Christian

Are you actively engaged as a Christian? Christianity does not end with salvation; rather it is a journey, which continues until you go to meet the Lord. So while you are alive on earth you must be an active Christian. This post gives you 5 important reasons why you should be an active Christian.

Introduction

Many Christians are not active in the kingdom of God. Truly, they have received Christ as their Lord and Savior, and that is all. As such, they are not vessels of honor in God’s house and are not available for God to use. Rather, they are the people you think of as pew warmers in the church. They come to church just to feed and go home, without making any impact or contribution to another person’s life. However, God says that we must occupy ourselves until He comes.

And he called his ten servants, and gave them ten pounds, and said to them, Occupy until I come – Luke 19:13 (KJV).

What does it mean to be an active Christian?

This is being actively engaged in serving God, in the full capacity that the Lord has given you. This means representing the Father wherever you are, in words and actions. It is also to be the Master’s hand and legs on earth, ready to do whatever or go where He tells you. Again, it is to be the agent of him winning souls for the kingdom. And you must do this not as convenient but as necessary or required. As such, active Christianity is minding God’s business until He comes or calls you home.

5 IMPORTANT REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD BE AN ACTIVE CHRISTIAN

1. You are a worker in God’s business on earth

God is running a time-limited soul-winning business on earth and He has recruited every believer into this business. And all he needs to qualify is to receive Jesus Christ as his Savior. And as a business, He expects profit in the form of multiples of souls saved. So any Christian who is not profitable is in danger of being thrown into outer darkness.

2. Faith without works is dead

You can be saved and do nothing in the kingdom of God. And just believing in God does not make you different from unbelievers. Because they also believe in God; even the devil also believes and trembles. So, what differentiates us Christians from unbelievers is our faith with works. As such, you show that you have faith in God by being an active Christian; otherwise his faith is dead.

3. It is the number one priority of a Christian

Christ commanded that we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And this is to serve the Lord and the interest of the kingdom of him. Therefore, you are expected to make serving God your number one priority in life. And He promised that everything else will add to you as you do. Therefore, make being an active Christian paramount in your life.

4. To bear fruit that remains

Jesus Christ told you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that lasts. So that everything you ask of the Father in the name of Christ you may receive. And you can only bear fruits and then make them remain if you are active. This is because it involves sharing the gospel of Jesus with people and following them until they are strong in Christ. So if you want to bear fruit that lasts, you must become an active Christian.

5. Being found as a faithful servant

As a worker in God’s business on earth, you have the task of doing certain things while Christ tarries. And He hopes to see you in your workplace serving faithfully by the time He returns. This is safe only if you are an active Christian.

Acceptable Service

If you are an active Christian, may your service be acceptable to God. Otherwise, it will be a wasted effort. Therefore, do your service as to the Lord and not to man, in season and out of season. Therefore, serve the Lord with all your heart, soul, body, strength, resources, and everything you have. Also, serve Him with godly fear and a perfect heart, so that He may receive service from Him and reward you accordingly.

Benefits

God truly is a rewarder of those who serve him. And in Exodus 23:25-26, he summed up the blessings of serving him. These include financial blessings, overall health, fertility, and long life. That is for being an active Christian, God will bless you in everything and give you long life to enjoy the blessings.

conclusion

So, considering the 5 important reasons why you should be an active Christian, it is vital that you become one. It is not enough to be a believing Christian; you need to become an active Christian. This will greatly multiply the disciples of Christ and at the same time bring about the blessings of God upon his life. Truly, it pleases the Lord when we partner with Him to save souls. And no one who serves him acceptably goes unnoticed. Therefore, strive for God to find you a faithful and wise servant in his kingdom.
