at home facials

With the dust and pollution that we all live with these days, getting facials is not a luxury. Once upon a time, perhaps women had facials just to feel pampered and relaxed, but now, considering the stress we face on a regular basis, facials are slowly becoming an important part of our skincare routines.

While it is true that we require regular facials, there is no need to spend a lot of money going to salons or spas to get them done. You can get a similar glow by following a few easy steps at home and voila! You will glow like when you first fell in love!

The first and foremost thing to do before starting a facial is to gather all the creams and packages. A facial is meant to be a relaxing experience and you won’t feel relaxed running from one cabinet to another looking for your cream or lotion. So the first step is to gather your items. The next step is if you are going to use any tools like maybe a spoon to remove blackheads, then sterilize it. All you need to do is put in a container of water and put it in the microwave and boil the water. You can also put it in a container and boil water the old fashioned way in your kitchen. Once you have done this, begin your facial.

Light some candles or put on some music to get into spa mode. Start by cleaning your face with a good cleanser. Many people believe that the terribly expensive cleansers are the best, but that’s not true. Use what suits your skin and works for you. If you find that a cheap drugstore brand suits your needs better, then by all means use that. For the cleanser on a cotton ball and spread it on your face. Then massage lightly in upward motions. Wait a few moments while it does its job and removes the dirt. Then use a cotton pad and pat it dry. Be careful while doing the whole process because we don’t want to wrinkle our skin!

Once the cleaning is finished, vaporize your face. Of course, use the vaporizer that is used during the times that you catch a cold. If you don’t want to steam your face, skip this step. However, the steam opens up your pores and all the wonderful creams you’ll use later will absorb better into your skin. Okay, so at this stage you will steam your face or not, depending on your choice. If you don’t have steam, jump ahead. If you steam your face, then after steaming, use the blackhead remover spoon or blackhead remover strips that are available in the markets.

Then use an exfoliant to gently remove old skin cells. Marketing departments can call a facial polishing scrub / exfoliating scrub / gentle pearl cleanser etc! All you need to do is use one of these things on your face. Focus on fatty areas like the bridge of the nose, the bags under the nose, the chin and the forehead. Rub well for about 2 to 3 minutes. Wash with warm water. At the end of this step you will notice that your skin looks smoother. This is because dead skin and dirt, which are of course invisible to the naked eye, have been removed. Alternatively, you can also use a homemade scrub.

After rubbing and admiring your glowing skin for a few minutes, it’s time to dip your fingers into a luxurious massage cream and apply it to your face. When shopping for a massage cream, look for ingredients like jojoba oil, macadamia nut oil, almond oil, vitamin E extracts, or something that says it nourishes your skin. Basically, since our skin is absolutely clean at this point, we want to make the most of it and nourish it with a good cream to make it glow. Take a sufficient amount and proceed to spread it on your face. Gently massage in an upward motion, concentrating on the area under the eyes and cheeks. Massage your neck too. If you have a handheld massager, use that too. Let this cream sit on your face for a while.

Once the cream is absorbed into your skin, we move on to the last step. Put on some kind of mask or pack that closes the pores and seals in the nutrition of your skin. If you live in a cold, dry climate, use a face mask that infuses much-needed moisture into your skin. if you live somewhere warm/hot and humid, then use a clarifying mask. Most companies have masks to suit every weather condition and skin type. So get something that suits you. Apply a good layer on your face and lie down for a while. Close your eyes and sleep for the next half hour. The nap will refresh you as much as the facial!

Wake up and wash/remove mask. Then stand in front of a mirror and admire your radiant skin!

This facial can be done as often as once a week. In fact, it’s good if you do it once a week to keep your skin looking and maintaining a healthy glow.
