Avoid False Economies in Business: See Value Over Cost

When we are selling our product or service, what many of us aim to do is persuade our client or client of the value of our offer. That way we get a proper reward and of course we have to deliver on our promises to deliver the quality to meet our customers’ expectations. I work hard to maintain the quality of service I provide and to ensure that my clients have peace of mind, because as someone who effectively offers business support services in tax compliance and other areas, peace of mind is what I sell. So my clients can focus on their core businesses knowing that most of the red tape compliance is being taken care of. I hope you think the same in your area of expertise.

However, from another angle, sometimes in business we are guilty of not seeing the value of the products and services of which we ourselves are customers. I see people, including some of my own clients, who find value in one service but skimp on another. We may think we know what we’re doing, but I’ve decided to seek help in marketing through my websites in the New Year. I’m a specialist in one area and pretty smart in at least one other, but I have to admit I don’t know all the tricks of internet marketing, while someone else will. So my websites should look a lot smarter in a month or so as I’ll be buying the recommended specialist help.

It is not good to be a cheapskate as a buyer of goods or services. In general, a better product or service makes life easier in general, so don’t make false savings by buying into website design or bookkeeping or whatever you need. Check the background of anyone you hire, look at their work, or get a decent, trustworthy reference for any contractor whose services you buy. Quality will cost money, but it should provide greater value and help you make a lot more money. Unfortunately, it is true that if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. What you don’t get is delivery satisfaction and you may not be better off and end up having to spend a lot more to fix things.
