Award winners of the first Windmill Remix Contest
Remix contest was a complete success, the world’s first wind turbine festival in the starting blocks
St. Pölten (OTS) –
on March 17th, 2021: IG Windkraft organized the first wind turbine remix contest to ask DJs and producers to stand in front of the curtain during the corona crisis. With almost 90 submissions, it was a complete success. A top-class jury consisting of Alexandra Augustin, Therese Terror, Camo & Krooked, Troy Savoy and DELADAP selected the best tracks. “Unbelievable what quality and variety the jury was presented with! It’s really nice to get such a strong sign of life from the local scene ”, said jury member Dominik Tamegger (“ Troy Savoy ”).
“The first wind turbine remix contest, organized by IG Windkraft, exceeded all of our expectations with almost 90 entries and was a complete success,” said Stefan Moidl, Managing Director of IG Windkraft. The expert jury was consistently impressed by the high quality of the entries. DJ Therese Terror emphasized: “It’s great to see that so many different genres were represented among the 90 submissions and that some tracks were so well produced that I’m not really worried about the“ offspring ”despite Corona. It is all the more important that there are competitions like this one in order to create the appropriate visibility for newcomers. ”
The winners
The top-class specialist jury selected the 10 best tracks from all the entries. We would like to take this opportunity to thank DJSound Austria and the main contest sponsor Ecowind.
Twice 1st place – Coccuma, RealSlimEdi
Due to a tie, Coccuma and TheRealSlimEdi share first place. The Lower Austrian Patrick Minichberger, alias Coccuma, was a part-time DJ in various clubs and discos for a long time, while his full-time job as a crane driver has already transported one or the other wind turbine. RealSlimEdi, who lives in Upper Austria, comments on the contest: “I think that the topic of wind energy is still far too little on people’s minds. I find it all the nicer when attention is drawn to this through art forms such as music. “
3rd place – Schickimicki Club
Third place went to a producer duo from the Weinviertel – the Schickimicki Club. Jury member Alexandra Augustin (FM4) commented on your submission as follows: “The rough voice and the fat drum & bass beat pick you up at first. Solid favorite! ”

Windmill Festival
The world’s first wind turbine festival, in the run-up to which the contest was held, will be recorded in the next few weeks and broadcast free of charge at the end of April. Funded by the state of Lower Austria. Sponsors: Thomas Huemer – ImWind, Wicon, 8.2 Christof Flucher.
