Craps with cards Vs Craps with dice

There are laws in force in certain states where an outcome cannot be determined by rolling the dice. This means that craps games, as we know them, are prohibited. However, smart casino operators have installed Craps games using cards instead of dice. Contrary to popular belief, this is a great opportunity because it offers an advantage to the player that is not available in a standard Craps game of craps.

The game of Craps played with cards is played exactly like Craps with dice. The table layout is the same (with the possible addition of two colored boxes that determine the shoe to be used. You can also bet on those colored boxes.

The casino uses cards numbered from ace to six (1 – 6) instead of dice. They also use a shuffling machine known as a “constant shuffling machine” because they don’t bury the cards when exposed, but are immediately returned to the shuffling machine (hence why it’s called a constant). The same cards that were used to score a point on the come out roll may not be available to be drawn again until a new rack is hit, making it disproportionately likely that a seven will come up instead, thus results in a win for the wrong bettor. Remember that fact, we’ll use it later.

After the point is established, two more cards are dealt to represent the next roll of the dice. That continues until either the point is made or the “shooter” rolls a seven.

For the purposes of this article, I am not going to go into the rules and/or strategies of the game of Craps. I assume you are already familiar with them, and the purpose of this article is to point out the differences and similarities of the game of craps played with cards compared to the game of craps.

The sweet little difference between the two is this: there is a very clear and big advantage to playing Craps with cards if you are a “wrong bettor”. You, the player, actually have the advantage over the casino and that is not found in any other game or version of Craps craps.

Conversely, there is a greater house edge if you are a “correct bettor”.

Are there any questions about how you should play the card version of Craps? The answer is obvious: it must be a wrong bettor. Put aside any objections you ever had to betting with the house and against the shooter. You are playing Craps to win money, not friends.

Why are the wrong bettors now in a positive odds position? In other words, why do we players have an advantage over the casino? That’s unheard of – after all, there are strategies that reduce the house edge to “0”, where the house edge is small (in craps, as well as in other games), but nowhere at any time does the player has really had the advantage. about the house – so far.

Here is the amazing news:

First, as noted above, the cards that established the point cannot be used again during a shooter’s attempts to make the point. This makes it even more likely that a seven will appear before the point, resulting in a win. That’s important, but that’s not the best part…

In a craps game played with dice, odds placement is how we reduce the overall odds of winning to the lowest (best) possible number. That means we can reduce the house edge to almost zero.

However, in a game of craps played with cards, by knowing when to bet against a number and how much to bet against a number, we reduce the odds, well below zero and to a very healthy advantage for the player. Here are the numbers:

placing odds against a 4 or 10 in a Craps game results in zero house edge (after calculating don’t pass or don’t come – actual odds give house edge: 1.364)

but, betting against the 4 or 10 in a card dice game has the house edge at -0.253. Yes, that’s a negative number and therefore the advantage goes to the player, absolutely unheard of! California casinos like Viejas in San Diego generously offer 10x odds (wins up to $1,000), so you should make the most of the max odds against 4 and 10.

The bet against a 5 or 9 in both games remains zero, with no house or player advantage. So, place your “normal” odds against a 5 or a 9.

Placing odds against a 6 or 8 in a Craps game results in zero house edge.

But, placing odds against the 6 or 8 in a card dice game has the house edge at -0.207. Yes, another bonus for the player! Once again, in California, put the maximum odds.

Therefore, if the player bet the maximum odds on points 4, 6, 8 and 10, the player’s overall advantage between the don’t-pass odds and the bets would be +0.022%. That is incredible!

So, take advantage of this golden opportunity and gratefully play Craps with cards instead of dice!
