Forget the gurus who claim that a website is required to start an easy online business

Contrary to what most gurus claim, you do NOT need to create a website to start an easy online business. As an affiliate marketer, you have alternative ways to pre-sell products.

Clearly, you need a pre-sales tool similar to a website, but why struggle to create a site or pay someone to create one when there are simpler methods? After all, according to Wikipedia, “The only thing you need to do to make money as an affiliate is drive web traffic to the publisher’s sales page.”

best example

The best example of a tool to start an easy online business is Squidoo.com. It ranks high on Google and can create a website-like set of pages with no programming effort, except for a bit of hypertext markup (if you want). HTML examples can be easily found on the web, so it’s not a problem.

Best of all, you can link directly to a product page with anchor text or images.

Characteristic

A short list of Squidoo features is as follows:

– The main component of a Squidoo lens is called a text module, a bit of a misnomer because you can add images.
– Hundreds of widgets to add callouts, larger images, RSS feeds, Amazon and eBay modules, etc.
– Automatic traffic statistics.
– Bio box with photos.
– Lots of supporting lenses.
– It’s free!

Limitation

The only limitation that would affect someone who wants to start an easy online business is that big brother is watching, so as soon as your lens gets a bit spammy, you may be subject to a review by the Squidoo gods. And you DON’T want the gods to know you got close to spam.
