How to build an email list of eager buyers

Having a list of email subscribers is one of the basics for any internet marketer. With a list of people to promote, you can sell your affiliate products, training services, e-books, and much more. It’s a quick and effective way to spread your brand and build a reputation for quality in any business.

But how do you get these loyal email subscribers?

It basically comes down to two things: content and promotion. Write great content and promote it to the max.

Copywriting takes time (unless you outsource it) and promotion takes money (unless you do it yourself), but the results will be worth it in the end.

They say that having a growing and effective email list is about 20% content and 80% promotion. Getting great content is the easy part (that’s what I’m here for, right?) but what about the promotion aspect?

To get those loyal subscribers you need:

drive targeted high traffic to your site
convert that traffic into subscribers/sales
encourage those subscribers to promote and share your site content

So how do you do that?

You need to plan your site content and hone your message, carefully crafting it until virtually every aspect of your site screams it like a mantra. Every visitor to your site should leave knowing EXACTLY what it’s all about. To the point where your message resonates with their brains.

Think about it.

Every marketing plan throughout history has been summed up in a slogan that customers can repeat like an earworm.

Think of all the advertising you’ve heard on TV or radio in the last 50 years. Chances are you can remember product jingles that don’t even exist anymore. Advertisers of the past knew the secret.

Get inside their brains and you’ll get their business.

Ask yourself what your customers want. Then deliver.

Notice I said I WANT, I don’t need.

Your wants will trump your needs every time. Make them want what you have, show them how much you can satisfy those wants, and you will be theirs.

Become an evangelist for your product or brand, spreading the good news about your service, and your subscribers will share your message with others. Put a little passion into your product and people will be drawn to your message. And when they do, be sure to reward them: coupons, e-books, contests, giveaways. People will be happy to re-tweet or share when they can receive a gift for doing so.

Create an exciting and lively place where people’s wishes are fulfilled and you will have loyal subscribers for years to come.
