The 10 commandments of the Costco label

Please regard them as the socially unwritten.

Accepted protocols for all Costco shoppers:

1. No parking lot races to get the best spot – It takes more time to find the perfect spot to just park far away and walk.

2. The Costco “Attitude” – Don’t expect to be in and out in 5 minutes … This is an outing and a process, not an In & Out Burger run … Breathe and relax.

3. Greet the greeter – These are people like you who appreciate a smile and a wave. Remember the golden rule.

4. Costco Cart Traffic Violation # 1. –Keep moving. If you MUST stop: Park your cart on the right hand side. Not everyone wants to stop and examine the offers as thoroughly as you do. Keep it moving Boss.

5. Violation of food sample # 1 – Under NO circumstances should you stop in the middle of the aisle and wait 5 minutes for the burrito sample to heat up. Is this really your last meal?

6. Violation of food sample # 2. – Keep your sample at one ONLY. It is a sample, not a ticket. Take your sample and continue Chief.

7. Costco Cart Traffic Visiting Violation # 2 – Don’t stop in the middle of the aisle and visit that friend you haven’t seen in a long time. If you must stop (see rule # 4) or go to the paper goods section and have a chat. You can continuously catch up there.

8. Don’t overthink the best pay line to pass – pick a captain! If Costco is busy, everyone will be there at the same time to help you get ahead.

9. Don’t ask the broker to get the 5 items you forgot – get them while you’re in the warehouse. Using a broker delays everything behind you. By the way: they don’t actually run!

10. Have your payment ready for the inspector ahead of time – you have the time, the money, and the conclusion of the Costco run is the currency exchange … Be prepared to pay.

(Bonus) Greet the greeter on the way out – pack your things out of traffic and drive safely out of the Costco parking lot … people really have no clue when you’re in the parking lots, drivers and walkers alike . Thanks for shopping at Costco!

Make shopping fun for you and those around you. Shopping is both a state of mind and a series of good social and social behaviors. Maintain basic social order when shopping and keep the line moving Boss. Obey the purchasing protocols and the 10 commandments!
