The author and the orphan (fictional story)

The beginning

Everyone hopes that one day they will be recognized for their unique abilities, but sometimes the opportunity is just too elusive. Once they manage to maintain popularity, most of the time, they are fascinated by their humble success and are reminded of the people behind their success.

As a child, Nomer grew up emotionally and was an introvert. It could be caused by incessant humiliation. Nomer can do nothing but avoid impending embarrassment. Nomer was very careful not to get into a conversation that would end up being a fool. Nomer needed to be simple and try not to be arrogant in any way. Nomer took refuge in writing poems and fictional stories as the humiliation mounted.

Nomer became interested in reading comics; his interest grew in the realm of fantasy. There was a wide range of comic book rentals during those times and Nomer would save a few coins to rent the comic he wanted. Gradually, Nomer gained confidence by writing her first poem and began joining an online poetry contest, where some of her works were awarded a spot. Nomer was driven to create his own tale as he lovingly recounted some of this to his family and close relatives. Writing had become a hobby for him to write an inspiring piece of writing.

The effort

Everyone strives to receive compliments from family and friends. Nomer was one of those who needed little praise and approval. Only a few admired the written works of Nomer. All the poems, stories and articles he had written were compiled on his blog. Nomer was pleased to see some visitors when he monitored the banner counter on his blog.

The attempt

Nomer had gone to the point of offering her written work to a publisher. You wrote your cover letter along with all the other requirements and submitted your book proposal. Nomer didn’t wait long for a response from the company’s managing director. Nomer received a rejection for his book proposal, but understood the business core of the company and a far cry from what Nomer had offered them: a fictional story. The company was publishing only nonfiction self-help and inspirational books. Nomer never heard or received a response from the publisher again.

The decision

Nomer was eager to share his written works and it suddenly came to mind: what if you donate this for charity? There are many orphanages in the country and many young people outside of school needed reading materials to calm the boredom inside the orphanage. There are some charities intended to serve orphans with their dedicated volunteer teachers. Nomer began printing her book manuscript and created a design for her book cover, and Nomer’s first thought upon finishing what needed to be done was “knowledge is sharing.” Nomer did not hesitate to donate her book to an orphanage. Nomer was only able to print one copy of her book as her budget was tight. Nomer went to the orphanage of her choice. He was happy to give the book to the orphanage manager. The manager was touched by Nomer’s kindness. The next day, inside the library, he had displayed Nomer’s book.

The arrival

It was midsummer when all the other orphans were outside weeding in the little garden when outside the front door a boy was staring and seemed eager to join other children. The administrator saw the boy and approached him. The manager took him inside and asked him where he came from and where his guardians were. The boy just bowed his head and cried. The boy recounted what had happened to his parents and siblings. All members of the family have died during the severe flash flood that struck their place; the boy could only remember that he survived by clinging to a piece of wood that led him to a nearby place. He became a tramp and depended on someone else’s mercy. The administrator offered the boy the orphanage as his new home, while the boy did not refuse and accepted the offer.

Curiosity

The little one would be known as Nimuel. Every day Nimuel regularly visited the small library, no one had convinced him to read, but he insisted on doing so. What caught the interest of Nimuel was the only copy of the book donated by Nomer entitled “Collection of thoughts”, in total it has 180 pages with three chapters: poem, short story and an article. Nimuel freely read the content of the book, never tired of understanding the message and finally memorized it. At the end of the day, Nimuel was able to recite the poems. In each moonlight, Nimuel shared the story he read to other orphans and, to everyone’s surprise, Nimuel was able to share the information he read from the articles section of the book. The book became Nimuel’s pillar to build his dreams. Nimuel showed the wisdom that would communicate to the elders his eagerness to learn and that was the beginning of it all. Nimuel was sent to the school sponsored by the orphanage. Nimuel persistently filled his life with simple knowledge and, at the decisive moment, Nimuel graduated with honors. The orphanage was very proud of Nimuel that his struggle did not come in vain but rather reaped good results. Nimuel thanked the people behind the orphanage wholeheartedly and revealed the secret behind its success, apart from the good upbringing of the people at the orphanage being the only copy of the book “Collection of Thoughts”, Nimuel was eager to ask who donated the book, the administrator selflessly revealed that it was donated by Mr. Nomer Rovales. Nimuel dreamed of meeting Mr. Nomer and needed to tell Mr. Nomer how the book had contributed to his success. Nimuel left the orphanage and started a new life outside of what he called a true home for several years. Now Nimuel, armed with skills and knowledge, embarked on the corporate world where he built his enormous wealth. One day, while Nimuel was walking in the park, he was overwhelmed by two opposite feelings; happiness and enthusiasm. Nimuel had humble beginnings and became a rich man and that happiness will also help him find Mr. Nomer Rovales.

The Meet-Up

The helical path of everyday life was not easy for the boy who was once called Nimuel and he reached adulthood, where fame and glorious life made him realize that the emptiness still remained in his heart. There was one goal that Nimuel would like to have a real impact on the lives of orphaned children and that was to educate them, starting to build more libraries in remote areas. After accumulating more than 10 years, Nimuel managed to build many libraries, it came as a montage of films put together for good effect. Nimuel believed that education is the first step to success.

One day, Nimuel was invited to speak in public. The topic was on “Deliberate parenting”, although Nimuel did not have a genuine conversation since that tragedy happened to his parents, if he had to seek the loving touch of his parents, he was upset with a good touch from the orphanage. It was an opportunity for Nimuel to meet the people with whom he is likely to share success. One of the audiences in attendance that day was Nomer, sitting at the far end of the domed stadium. Nimuel was confidently conveying his story to his audience and, for the umpteenth time, he also mentioned the book entitled “Collection of Thoughts.” Mr. Nomer knew immediately that it was the only book that he had donated to the orphanage. Immediately after the speech, Nimuel expressed his gratitude to Mr. Nomer Rovales, and right at that moment he showed his audience the book that he had been saving all along, the book that became his inspiration to do the right thing. Nimuel also read that life had to be entered through three doors: a door full of images to choose from, the second door is paths to a path and the third door is a tree that bears fruit to collect. What is harvested from the fruit tree comes from the roots of perseverance. Nimuel had promised to print more copies of Mr. Nomer’s book as he personally recognized the importance of the book. Mr. Nomer could not express the joy within his heart; finally, his written works had gained recognition. Mr. Nomer wordlessly left the stadium without introducing himself to Nimuel. Mr. Nomer was happy that way even without showing himself to the crowd while Nimuel spoke about the author.

In the past years, Mr. Nomer grew old along with the deterioration of his body. He locked himself in his room and used to read his draft of the book he donated to the orphanage, with tears in his eyes as he looked at the cover of his book in amazement, someone knocked on his door, to his surprise it was none. plus Nimuel at the door holding an attractively designed bound book bearing the author’s name “Nomer Rovales.” Nimuel took Nomer’s hand and hugged him. The author’s face was unusually calm when Nimuel touched his face, drawing closer; Nimuel realized that Nomer was dead. It was a sad reunion between the author and the former orphan. The book had circulated throughout the country and had become a bestseller. Lord Nomer’s pen and thoughts rested now; all things have been in the desired place because God is really working to return the blessing to all of us. Nomer was remembered as the author who made great changes in the life of an orphan boy. The end.
