Up to 620,000 at the third “Starmania 21” show on March 12th on ORF 1

Vienna (OTS) 16 strong-voiced talents sang for eight places in the semi-final shows this Friday – and up to 620,000 did not want to miss the third “Starmania 21” qualification show on March 12, 2021 live on ORF 1. The presentation of the songs was followed by an average of 507,000 viewers at 8.15 p.m. with a market share of 16 percent. At around 10:10 p.m., an average of 547,000 people voted (market share 20 percent). The market share among the younger audience (12-49 and 12-29) averaged 24 percent. With 1.116 million viewers (the broadest group of viewers), 15 percent of the Austrian TV population watched the “Starmania 21” evening on ORF 1 for at least a short time.

These eight candidates achieved promotion to the semifinals in the third qualifying round:

Jonathan Dobias is 23 years old, comes from Vienna and is studying to become a primary school teacher.
Selina-Maria Edbauer: The 22-year-old singer comes from Leoben in Styria.
Adrian Haslwanter: The 27-year-old technician comes from Inzing in Tyrol.
Laura Kozul: The 16-year-old student comes from Großhöflein in Burgenland.
Fred Owusu: The 24-year-old student (elementary school teacher and theology) lives in Graz.
Philip Piller: The 25-year-old singer and street musician comes from Vienna.
Michael Russ: The 27-year-old artist comes from Tillmitsch in Styria.
Deborah Posadas Saucedo: The 23-year-old from Graz works as a management assistant.

Backstage view and more with the “Ö3-Starmania-Podcast”

What’s going on behind the show curtain? What do you not see on TV? And what do the candidates say about it? The Ö3-Starmania podcast “War of the Stars” offers a look behind the scenes and provides backstage impressions and interviews with the Starmaniacs and the jury. The podcast appears on Saturday afternoons and can be accessed in the ORF radio library, on the Ö3 homepage and wherever there are podcasts. Who are the “Starmaniacs” who go into the powerful race for victory at the ORF casting event, which songs do the candidates perform on the show, why do they think they have what it takes to be the star of the year?
