Wallonia is preparing to release 22 million euros to support sports clubs

The practical arrangements will be detailed by the ministers at the end of the Walloon government meeting on Friday.

Lhe Walloon government ministers Jean-Luc Crucke (Finance and Sports Infrastructures) and Christophe Collignon (Local Powers) announced on Tuesday evening that the Southern Region of the country was preparing to release a global envelope of 22 million euros in order to perpetuate the activity of sports clubs.

According to the two ministers, the exceptional health crisis linked to Covid-19 that Belgium has been experiencing since March 2020, and the containment and restrictive measures of activities continue to impact several associations and sports clubs.

This subsidy will be granted to municipalities to maintain sports activity in their territories.
