Affiliate Marketing Training: Keyword Rich Content Basics

For many, affiliate marketing training pays its biggest dividends when an internet marketer achieves first page status or, ideally, the highest ranking on the first page of a major search engine. The traffic generated in this way is known as organic.

What does this mean? When you search the Internet, you enter a word or phrase that you think describes what you’re looking for. After entering the general area, you can get more specific sequentially until you find information that gives you answers. The websites at the top of this first page are in a very favorable position for generating organic traffic.

How did they get there?

For this article, we’re going to focus strictly on keywords… those very words you entered into search to get to that page. Keywords, or keyword phrases, are site-specific text that search engines can identify. Using a complex (and constantly changing) formula, the search engine ran a search of the available resources and provided you with a list of sites, from top to bottom, that best represented the solution to your specific search.

So, with this in mind, it’s safe to say that the top sites on the first page provided the most keyword-related results. Without deviating too much from this concept, it is necessary to say that the search engine results will also reflect directly linked sites and equally rich in the requested keywords. This fact is a key ingredient to the popularity and success of article marketing.

Lesson #1 then becomes embedding relevant, keyword-rich content on each of your sites. Don’t make this harder than it is…just think backwards. Compile a list of what you would enter in a search to get to your site. Then try those words individually or in combination on a search engine and look at the results (on the page, there will be, say, 1 of 13,000). This tells you that you are viewing the first of 13,000 listings available for that particular query.

Wow, 13,000… I don’t know how little old you could make it to the front page, right? WRONG, and this is where you should do your homework. Remember, page rank is not exclusively the result of your site 1, but also the association with other sites with the same keywords, either yours or linked to yours. For example, Google ranks sites from 0 to 10 ranked primarily by popularity and traffic. If you published an article on Article Dashboard that was keyword-rich in a smaller niche (say 9,000), you might receive first page status based on Article Dashboard’s high page rank (Google rank = 5). In effect, you were ‘piggybacked’ to that classification.

However, a word of caution. This example can be a bit paradoxical. It’s great to see your site on the first page… but is anyone looking for that page? Remember, the benefit you’re looking for is generating organic traffic… not bragging rights. 🙂

Changing marketing trends and new products can turn a previously irrelevant word or phrase into a HOT keyword in a very short period of time. This practice is NOT unethical…everyone on the internet can use this technique…you are NOT taking unfair advantage of yourself.

To compromise the effectiveness of your keyword content… yes, do a search. Keyword Analyzer… 1 of 192K. Well, this should help you realize the importance of keyword content when posting to the web.
