blog for dollars

Blogging for dollars may sound like the latest game show or a new drinking game, but it’s the latest craze on the internet. Bloggers started blogging for various reasons, but as the blogging movement has grown in popularity, they have found ways to monetize their blogs and are seeing their commitment pay off.

Whether a blogger’s focus is communicating with customers or just having fun, they have started looking for ways to earn income from their blogs. The most popular ways for bloggers to earn some extra money for their pet projects are:

1.) Google AdSense on Blogs
Google AdSense allows webmasters to dynamically post content-related ads on blogs. If the visitor clicks on one of the AdSense ads served on the blog, the website owner is credited for the referral. Webmasters just need to insert a Google generated java script into the blog or blog template. The Google spider analyzes the AdServing blog and publishes ads related to the blog content. Google uses a combination of keyword matching and context analysis to determine which ads to show.

2.) Affiliate Programs (Product Recommendations)
Affiliate programs work when an affiliate website receives revenue from generating sales, leads, or traffic to a business website. Typically, bloggers will mention or endorse specific products and if site visitors purchase the product, the bloggers will receive a portion of the sale.

3.) Product Promotion
Companies use blogs to detail how specific features or product add-ons can increase functionality and save time. Promoting content-rich products will help with search engine placement.

4.) Banner Ads
While less popular than in the past, websites with high levels of traffic can still earn a decent income by selling ad space.

As the Internet evolves, bloggers will continue to look for ways to monetize their opinions and thoughts. Daily magazines and online blogs have become more than just a means of communication for many.
