Jealousy, or the green-eyed monster, as it’s also known, can bring two people together or drive them apart, depending on the situation. If your relationship recently ended, this is definitely NOT the way to get him back, and I’ll tell you why.
During your relationship, if you and your ex were somewhere and another guy showed interest in you, your ex would get very irritated and would probably tell the guy in no uncertain terms that he doesn’t appreciate anyone looking at his partner. Although you’re embarrassed, this reaction from your ex actually made you feel good.
You knew for a fact that you belonged to him and that there was no way he was going to let another man come between the two of you. In short, it was flattering to know that your boy was jealous of you. Now, though, because you broke up, you think that if you go out of your way to make him jealous, you’ll win him back.
You must understand that there is a big difference between the jealousy your ex felt when you were together, and the jealousy he will feel now that your relationship has ended. He probably still loves you, but he’s too angry to talk to you right now; If given a little time to get over his feelings, chances are he’ll contact you anyway.
However, if you get impatient and try to use another man to make him jealous and force him to come back to you, please understand that it will NOT work. He is already hurt and angry, and adding jealousy to these emotions is probably the biggest mistake you could make right now, because he will drive him further away from you.
You see, instead of feeling like he should accept you back, he’ll imagine that you’ve lost interest in him and decided to get involved with someone else. He will be under the impression that he has lost you, so someone else and you will never get him back.
The best thing you can do is be patient, let him get over the breakup, and then talk to him. If he knows that you still love him, you will have a much better chance of him coming back into your life.
