Filipino Numbers – Part 2

The following are the numbers from one hundred to nine hundred. You may notice that Spanish and Filipinized hundred have an (a) attached. This is used to add the other two digits to it. For example, One hundred and twenty is one hundred and twenty. If the number is only one hundred, it is only one. The format of the following list is Filipino, English, Spanish and Filipinized version.

• Sangdaan, hundred, hundred(to), syen(to).
• Dalawangdaan, two hundred, two hundred, two syentos.
• Tatlongdaan, three hundred, three hundred, three syentos.
• Apatnaraan, four hundred, four hundred, kwatro syentos.
• Limangdaan, five hundred, five hundred, five hundred.
• Animanaraan, six hundred, six hundred, six hundred.
• Pitongdaan, seven hundred, seven hundred, seven hundred.
• Walongdaan, eight hundred, eight hundred, otsosyentos.
• Siyamnaraan, nine hundred, nine hundred, nine hundred.

If you remember the first part of this lesson, The n/a and ng is also used here. As for the helper daan and raanonly four hundred, six hundred and nine hundred uses raan while the rest use daan. Furthermore, these three also have the n/a in it and not ng. One last thing is blood both in a hundred and in a thousand. You remember shampoo or ten of the previous part? The word it’s a is its own way but in the word shampoodrop the I and add subway you have to modify it. By the hundreds and the thousands, subway is replaced by ng and n/a.

As for the million, billion, trillion and any number greater than the previous ones, it is similar to Spanish but the spelling is Filipinized. To change the Spanish to Filipino spelling, you must replace the last li by there. This will give us the following: milion, billyon, trilyon. This is the last part of the introduction to the number.
