Halloween festivities at Atlanta’s biggest attractions

Two of Atlanta’s largest and most popular attractions offer plenty of Halloween and fall fun for families. Six Flags Over Georgia opens its annual Fright Fest on the weekends in October. The evening activities at Fright Fest are probably more suitable for older children. There are less scary activities for younger children during the day. Stone Mountain Park has scheduled its Pumpkin Festival from September 28 to October 28, 2012. This festival has activities and entertainment for the whole family. Here are some of the highlights of each.

The Six Flags Over Georgia Fright Fest takes place on the weekends of October 6-28. Some of the park’s roller coasters and thrilling rides are specially renovated for the month-long event. Watch out for the siren song on the Siren Sky Coaster and the witch lurking below the Goliath. Ride the Dahlonega Terror Train through an ancient mine shaft and uncover the mystery in the Acrophobia Monster Tower. In Cthulhu’s surprise, see what disgusting things lurk beneath the Scream Machine roller coaster. Monstertainment’s special programs include Dr. Fright’s Dead Man Party, Grouchy Griswold, The Insult Comic, and Baron Von Vile’s Call to His Minions. Daytime attractions geared toward younger children include pumpkin crafts, spooky tales, trick-or-treating, and a costume contest for kids. Fright Fest hours are from 11 am to 11 pm on Saturdays, from noon to 10 pm on Sundays and from 6 pm to midnight on Friday, October 26. Daily tickets start at $ 41.99 online. Prices at the park are $ 56.99 for adults and $ 39.99 for children under 48 inches tall. Additional fees are required for some haunted attractions. Six Flags Over Georgia is located at 275 Riverside Parkway in Austell, Georgia.

The whole family can celebrate fall at Stone Mountain Park’s 10th Annual Pumpkin Festival. Activities are scheduled Friday through Sunday from September 28 to October 28 in the Crossroads area. Seasonal entertainment and shows include trick-or-treating, scavenger hunts, a costume party, and a pumpkin pie eating contest. Pumpkinpalooza is a fun family game show that features two teams competing in a series of challenges. At Pumpkin Junction, families can make seasonal crafts and dress up their own scarecrow. Families can choose their Halloween pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch. At Campfire Corner, storytellers will be entertained by classic and contemporary tales. Visitors should save some time to explore some of Stone Mountain’s other attractions, such as Geyser Towers, Great Barn, and Summit Skyride. The Pumpkin Festival hours are 10:30 a.m. M. At 5 p. M. On Fridays and Sundays and from 10:30 a.m. M. A 7 p. M. Saturdays. The park’s laser show starts at 8pm on Saturdays. Daily Adventure Passes are $ 28 for adults and $ 22 for children. The vehicle entrance fee is $ 10. The entrance to the park is located at Exit 8 of US Hwy 78 East.
