How good are low calorie diets?

The idea of ​​eating is usually a great comfort to most of us, while the idea of ​​dieting to lose weight is a bit heavy. However, we know that bodies that accumulate fat around vital organs are a disaster. Fatty liver, for example, can lead to cancer, while other organs, such as the heart, can suddenly fail. Recent tests confirmed that my pancreas is fat induced and that scares me as my sister recently died of pancreatic cancer.

Despite that, the idea of ​​dieting is still appealing. The idea that so many who are overweight must face the same dilemma doesn’t help. It’s a matter of willpower and health-related self-discipline, and yet something makes me want to rebel against it.

Low calorie foods are always in my freezer to avoid having to prepare such meals myself. This helps, as they are usually delicious and require very little preparation. The question is how good they are in the long run.

Following the advice of others, removing sugar from my diet has caused me to lose a few kilograms. Salt is another non-essential when preparing my own meals. Living in a cold climate, however, is part of my problem, along with the fact that sitting for long hours in front of the computer and typing is extremely weight-inducing.

In recent months a gym has provided me with a healthy alternative and disciplining myself to go every day when possible is paying off. However, only through diet can I hope to lose the fat and understanding low calorie food intake is the only way to do that. My research shows that they are generally pretty good value and sticking with them is a good alternative.
