How to save my marriage without sex – 3 possible causes of the route

If you are in a situation where there is a clear lack of intimacy between you and your partner, then you are probably looking for answers to the question: how to save my marriage without sex? Living within a sexless marriage can be a harrowing time with feelings of guilt, anger, and rejection coming to the fore. However, there are causes that started this lack of intimacy and they might not be what you think!

First of all, if you’re on the receiving end, you probably think that the only reason your partner doesn’t want to have sex with you is because they no longer find you attractive. However, nine times out of ten this is not the case at all. Most people discover to their surprise that there are other underlying factors within the marriage or relationship that can manifest as a lack of intimacy with their partner.

One of these factors could be anger. For example, if you and your spouse have had an ongoing conflict that has not been fully resolved, this could be a major contributing factor to your sexless marriage. Before any normal sexual intercourse can take place, you will need to sit down with your partner and discuss the problem until it is fully resolved. This may well mean a lot of commitment on your part, but it may be worth it as it could save your marriage!

Another underlying problem could be a change in body shape. Your partner may have packed on a few pounds lately and is feeling a bit uncomfortable with his or her body right now. They might even feel embarrassed! One of the best ways to deal with this is to not make a fuss about it. Certainly don’t make a “how cute they’ve gotten” joke because no matter how harmless this sounds, your partner could take it very personally. Instead, you should take the lead and suggest that the whole family follow a healthy eating plan. Suggest going for a walk with your partner and maybe even suggest that you both join the gym. If your partner sees that you are showing that you care about them, then they will open up more to you.

Another possible cause could be external stress. By this I mean additional pressure from outside sources that could lead to stress. For example, your partner may be concerned about your job security and the ongoing implications this may have. For example, money concerns and how they are going to support the family, etc. This could even lead to feelings of anxiety and failure.

If your partner is under a lot of stress, then getting intimate with you might be the last thing on their mind. The best thing to do in this situation is to try to talk to your partner. It acts as a sounding board for them. Most of the time, a shared problem is a problem cut in half. Offer your full support and reassure them that you will be there for them no matter what.
