In the Hot Seat – Great Bachelorette Party Games

If you’ve offered to host the bachelorette party, you’re probably feeling overwhelmed by all the details and preparation that went into it, and the bachelorette party games may seem unimportant compared to all the other things you have to do. But games are a fun and important part of every bachelorette party. They make great icebreakers if you have multiple guests who don’t know each other, and they’re a great way to save your guests from boredom, no matter how silly they may seem. If you’re not sure how many games to play, how long it will take, or even which games you should play, here’s a list of some bachelorette party games and how long each will take.

1.) A great icebreaker is the game “My name is, your name is.” This is a great game, especially if you are sitting in rows or at the same table in the shower. You start at one end and have the first person introduce themselves and how they meet the bride. The person next to them does the same, the problem is that they have to remember the name of the person who went first, as well as how they know the bride. After correcting him, the person next to him does the same, except he has to remember the names of the first and second person, as well as how they know the bride. This continues until everyone has a turn and the last person has to say everyone’s names and their relationship to the bride. This game can last anywhere from thirty to forty-five minutes, depending on how well the guests take notice and start paying attention.

2.) Another great game is the “Toilet Paper Bride” game. During this game, your guests must be divided into two or three groups and each group selects a “bride”. Once the teams have formed, give each team two rolls of toilet paper. The teams then begin dressing their “bride” in their toilet paper wedding dress, designed by them. At the end of the game, the royal bride must look at each dress and select the one she likes best. This game can take anywhere from twenty to thirty minutes depending on how much time you give them to complete.

3.) “I Said, She Said” is a fun game that can be played throughout your shower. At the beginning of the shower, as people arrive, give them two or three clothespins and ask them to clip them to any part of their clothing. Tell them that whenever they hear someone say certain words, such as the bride’s name, the groom’s name, or maybe even the word wedding, grab one of that person’s pins. At the end of the shower, have everyone count their pins. The guest with the most clothespins is the winner.

4.) The “Bride of All Trades” game is a great game that even the smallest guests will enjoy playing. Before the shower, buy an apron and attach all kinds of kitchen utensils. In the shower, have the bride leave the room and put on her apron. Give all your guests paper and pencils. When everyone is ready, have the bride return to the room and proceed to walk around the room slowly, passing each person and giving them plenty of time to study the apron. You should only keep her in the room for five to ten minutes. Once everyone has had a chance to look at the bride, ask them to leave the room, and then give everyone exactly one minute to make a list of everything they remember seeing on the apron. After the time is called, have everyone put down their pencils and bring the bride back to the room. The person with the longest correct list is the winner and the candy apron must be given to the bride as a gift.

5.) “The Newlywed Shower Game” is a great game just for the bride. Before the shower, make plans to interview the groom. Make sure you get some easy questions and some hard questions answered, things he thinks only the bride will know about him. In the shower, bring the bride over and start asking her questions about the groom. While this isn’t a great game for everyone, it’s fun to see how well the bride-to-be knows her future husband and laughs at the differences in her answers. This game should only take ten to fifteen minutes, any longer than that and it will get boring for your guests.

No matter which games you choose, be sure to get creative! There are some great games out there, so don’t be afraid to google “bachelorette party games” for some great ideas. Try to pick a few unique games that not everyone has played before to keep things fun and interesting. You should also buy some prizes! It will make games more fun and competitive if they know there are prizes involved. So be sure to buy some nice and useful prizes, not just candles or bags of candy. Remember that your bachelorette party will be one of the most memorable parts of your bride’s engagement period, so make sure everything is centered around her, especially since her party will be a welcome release from all of your wedding planning.
