Indecision: the rock and the hard place
Recently, Yahoo News reported that 1 in 7 voters were still undecided in their voting preference just days before the election. This is a great decision and an important event. It is in these decisions that the True Self insists on expressing itself, while the habitual pattern of the human mind is still in play. One could freely say that consciousness is struggling to get out.
However, weighing things up logically will not solve the dilemma.
The human mind operates with logic and worldly fears. If I vote for Obama, will it increase my taxes? On the other hand, if I vote for McCain, will he send more troops to war? The human mind cannot know these things no matter how hard it tries to answer them.
These are decisions of the soul. The soul has a completely different agenda than the human mind. The soul strives to grow: expanded capacity to love, expansion in joy, generosity of the Spirit and of the heart. Certainly these Soul goals are ultimately expressed through human means on the planet. Policies that include, rather than exclude. Legislation that goes against the thinking of the human mind, of course. So the human mind comes in with its fears and limitations: but what would that mean for my wallet and my work?
The soul knows that there is an infinite supply. That is the key difference between the thinking of the human mind and the divine thinking. Every offense that has been committed on Earth has been outside the thought of the human mind that believes that there are simply not enough good things for everyone. And in this economic climate, the appearance of lack is there for that purpose only: to make you FEEL rather than think your way through this choice.
When you find yourself caught between a rock and a hard place, be it a voting decision or a relationship decision, you come face to face with your True Self urging you to do so. Be free! Love! Expand! Risk! And your human mind, which is small and fearful and wants you to play it safe, stay small and don’t risk anything or rock the boat.
The inner experience in this position is torture. Yes, No, Yes, No. Back and forth we go, round and round making pancake batter in our minds. The answer is always to stop the mind, calm it, and calm it. Then find your way through the puzzle. Truth, love, and growth are always the potential for all irony or paradox.
Should you go the way you’ve never gone? Should you stay away from your conventions, especially since he was so vocal a few nights ago? What would people say? How can I understand this?
Once again, the soul is not understood by the thought process of the human mind. We change. We grow. We expanded because that is why we came to Earth: to play, love and enjoy adventure without fear.
Once you have responded to the call of your Self and have chosen the opposite of your human mind, you will feel such relief and satisfaction spread through you. This is your Self saying, “Well done.” The fruits of that new choice will spread throughout all areas of your life, as you chose joy and love over fear and limitations. You have grown and expanded.
