Influence of television on today’s youth

As a young man myself, I have experienced the many results of media today. According to the old days, the media is supposed to be the main source of information and entertainment, but my question is to what extent is this source used? I agree with the fact that people are looking for entertainment that is easy on the eyes and something that BBC and CNN or any other documentary channel does not offer. The reason why I was forced to bring this topic to light is the very fact that the media serves as the main control server not only for young people, but also for the various stages of life, from a mother of 2 years until, shall we say, ….until the last breath of humanity. The media is so important in our lives today that it is so true that the media is, in fact, one of those many things that keep us going.

The power of the media is something that no one can define because it is something that we all expect the moment we open our eyes early in the morning and close them that same night. In fact, the media is so much a part of most of our lives today that we may not even realize the effect it has on a person’s life. We are so dependent on mass media, especially TV, that we are even willing to skip breakfast, but we dare not miss that TV show. Television is one of the best ways to feed information into our system, whether good or bad. We may not learn as much as through reading, but through television, we say that watching television is one of the best ways that we capture the things that catch our attention so much. But are we learning the right things? Are we using this information in the right way?

Television affects us in so many ways that most of our actions are influenced by today’s movies and music industry. Some of us even tend to live like celebrities and TV stars, not knowing that real life is going to be a completely different scenario. Unknowingly, television can influence one’s personality and it can also affect one’s environment. Most of us tend to live like celebrities these days. In fact, we not only talk like them, dress like them, walk like them, maybe even eat like them, but we also start behaving like them, the only difference is that they are living the life of a celebrity where things are. they could be. a little different from what a common person drives. But too late, we have already started to respond to the matter irresponsibly thinking, just like in the movies, it will all go away. We live in a very different world now, a fantasy where everything comes our way and all we have to do is ask or just wish for it. Nowadays we tend to adore big stars and big personalities that when they cry, we cry too and when they laugh, we laugh with them. We have not managed to discover ourselves or who we really are, instead we prefer to hide under cover in disguise and become what we do not expect to bring us more success than it would, if we were ourselves, including changing our name thinking that if we change an ordinary Sam Christus to the ever-popular Tom Cruise or a simple Bob Bitt to Brad Pitt, we have a better chance of reaching the big office where the issues are much more intense than the names. We are forgetting our duties as individuals and the very reason we are in this world. I myself have experienced a simple example of how I could not discover myself, but always preferred to be someone. He was a huge ‘Avril Lavigne’ fan. I used to dress like her and try to act cool and I developed a ‘I don’t care what other people think’ attitude. But I guess I had to learn it the hard way and eventually came to the conclusion that, well, it’s not practical when it comes to my lifestyle and where I was raised. But luckily, I was able to realize this impractical act long before it really affected me seriously. So I was lucky, but maybe not many others who are still caught up in a whirlwind of illusions where they get lost trying to imitate their beloved artists or stars hoping that the environment will react the same way as in the movies and when things don’t. they do. comes out as it should, we get unnecessarily frustrated and angry at ourselves and maybe even those around us. Those affected are us, not any of them. And we can’t blame anyone for it because it’s just a matter of self-actualization and it involves only you and me. And the reason why I prefer this issue to be discussed with young people is because we are the majority of the world’s population and only we can do something about it and prevent those below us from being plunged into this ideal world in which that we have forgotten the true meaning of hardness. work and true success.

Recently, I had read about something that touched me immensely and I am sure most of you must have already read/heard the news about three schoolchildren who murdered two other children in their same school thinking that due to their death, their school would declare a Vacation. . What were these once innocent children thinking? Do they really know what they were doing? Who do we blame? I hope that watching too much television was not one of the reasons for such an act, or the source from which they learned all these techniques or even got their idea from. Where were your parents during all this?

Most of the music videos are all about love and sex or maybe even something in between. What happens to us is that these thoughts stay in our head and, knowingly or not, we believe that this is how things are supposed to be and we forget the true meaning of what we once knew and were taught. Well, life is not just about love, sex, or fake personalities. It is about how we live our life and what we do and how it is done that counts because who knows how long we will be given the privilege of enjoying the luxury each year offers us. I wish the songs and videos contained more meaningful words and scenes instead of ‘I love you, you love me, I touch you, you touch me, I kiss you, you kiss me… well these are things we all already know, I just wish that they could sing about something more dramatic or meaningful, instead of showing the girls walking around with nothing on… because believe me, I’m having a really hard time making sure my nieces and nephews don’t end up. seeing any of those at such a young age, but how can I, every time I turn on my TV, all I see is this. I hope the younger generation, far below us, don’t end up doing it in real life…or do they? I wish that the music producers and whoever is in control of this matter do something about it instead of just focusing on the benefit that is assured, when the youth or anyone is satisfied with the matter that is shown. I really wonder if that will ever work because money is something that can blind a person and as the saying goes “Money is something people would even die for”. Well, maybe the only answer is within us. So when do we start looking for it? Maybe the day we start experiencing it ourselves. But do we have to wait that long? What if that day never comes?

What about the times when our role models would be Princess Diana, Gandhi, Mother Teresa… oh yes, how times change… I remember when I was a child, often asked who my role model was. To go on, I used to wonder who did more for people and their good deeds… But if you ask me now, I don’t know exactly who to answer… because right now I can’t think of anyone who is capable of winning that auspicious title these days. especially among young people who still have a long way to go in learning about our cultures and traditions, and how life was like without television and how people found happiness among themselves in their family, when they worked hard and believed truth in a person who brought us into this world. We young people still have a lot to learn about life and all it has to offer.

Let’s not be more ignorant. It is time that we know what is right and what is really wrong. Let’s contribute and correct each other and teach ourselves how to become a true celebrity within ourselves and how to be a good role model to one another and maybe even one day be another version of our great leaders who once gave their life for us to live and enjoy the luxury that life offers us now. How can we waste all their efforts? Let’s be grateful to our ancestors who have worked hard for our future and thank them with our simple acts of kindness. Let’s be someone, say a younger version of Gandhi perhaps.
