Located along the Hudson River, Riverdale is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods you’ll find in the city, and it’s also an exciting and safe place to go out. Home to Manhattan College and some of New York City’s most elite high schools, Riverdale has a vibrant bar scene where revelers young and old can get in on the action. Along Broadway, nightlife ranges from casual sports bars that broadcast the games to exclusive dance clubs that pump up the beats.
Locals like to show off Riverdale’s best steakhouses, including favorites like Jake’s on Broadway and Riverdale Steakhouse on Riverdale Avenue. For all-night fare, you can stop by the Short Stop Diner, a neighborhood staple located on Broadway and 242nd Street. While Riverdale has always been upscale, more has been built along Henry Hudson Parkway in recent years, resulting in more high-rise and upscale apartments in the area.
Shoppers will enjoy strolling down Riverdale and Johnson Avenues and taking a midday breather at Wave Hill Public Gardens. Take a few steps to Riverdale Park and you’ll have the best view of the Hudson.
