The essence of being single

For many of us, being single evokes and brings out various meanings. The fact is that it describes the way many of us live. For some humble minor group, it is what they always want to be, and it may be the way they will be, always. For many of us, it means a perpetual war against optimism. They say that hope is an eternal stick and that we were not created to live alone forever. For the desperate monk, it might be a life designed to dedicate, but for you and me, it turns out to be a temporary state; that is the hope we have every day that passes under the sun.

If there is something that is not easy, it is living single. It seriously means that on any given day we are openly responsible for each and every decision we make. Sharing decision making is out of our hands as we lack another human member in our lives with whom to share the misery and consequences of life. We trust the friends in our life, even though we can never form a strong bond with them, as we would with a person with whom we have a personal relationship.

Therefore, it is our business as individual human beings to make those decisions that are important to us with each passing day, whether to go to dinner, to work, where to party on the weekend, and even what to do on vacation. in the midst of making a decision about how and where to socialize.

Once we get home at night, there is hardly anyone to greet us at the house, so we have dogs and cats as pets and company. We prepare our meals alone or simply forget about it altogether and generally live in a solitary existence that has been clearly marked by our friends, social life and work routine. The loneliest and most unique problem with us is that we barely discuss whatever gnaws at our minds, even when we burn out. Within social scenes, we can discuss things to a small extent, as well as call friends on the phone, although it lacks the comprehensive compassion that can be received from the partners we may have within our relationships.

Even cooking for one soul is a very painful experience. The essence of cooking is being able to share it with like-minded people or someone. If we have a wonderful movie, we may not enjoy it because we are alone. Shopping means we miss the fun of making decisions together. And then there is the case of sex. Solo sex is a reality in singleness, but of course, it’s not what our tomies were created for.

In essence, being single misses out on the joys of a close relationship, from companionship, empathy, understanding, and icy love with a tinge of romance; We are left to fill the great void with what we want, since the decision is ours.
