Burton-on-Trent, also known as Burton or Burton upon Trent, is a town across the River Trent in the eastern part of Staffordshire in England. Both the Trent Canal and the Mersey Canal and the River Trent wind majestically through the city. The city lies within the National Forest and is the largest city in the Forest and had a total population of approximately 43,784 according to the 2001 Census.
