Website Designer Smashed By Blog

For my part, I’m tired of hearing horror stories about people’s confusing, expensive, and disoriented experiences with website designers. So many people prepared to be exploited and trampled on!

If you have a business, a club, a hobby, or just a few photos that you want to post on the internet, you really don’t have to spend any money. But for most people, money isn’t the issue (since you might find some kid in college who will put together a single page for a cheeseburger and 3 pages for a steak dinner). The fear of “code” (you know, all that technical crap that makes everything work) is what stops most people. “I’ll never learn all these things, it’s over my head, it takes too long” whatever!

So, let’s look for an easy, fast, and no-cost way to build a web presence for whatever needs you have. This next concept will blow your mind … blogging. Blogs are an incredibly powerful, easy-to-configure, and easy-to-use tool that can, in less than 5 minutes, have a web presence. Blogs allow you to add all the content you want to your site, add an unlimited amount of images, videos, slideshows, and a large amount of digital junk to distribute around the world. All free.

Let me get to the point. Go find Google’s blogging platform called Blogger and sign up. By the time you’re done registering (yes, go ahead and burn 3 minutes of your life), you will have your website up and running and connected to the internet. No kidding, it’s ridiculous how fast it is.

However, keep a few things in mind. Just because you can’t solve something on your blog doesn’t mean it can’t be done. I’ve seen some pretty amazing Blogger blogs in my time, some that I never would have guessed were even blogs! I’ve seen people take a small idea, launch it using a blog, and turn it into a full-time business.

One of my favorite customer stories on blog rescheduling was from a small computer repair website. They really started the blog just to blow off some steam. They would add a page here and there, just as a hobby. One day, they enabled AdSense (Google’s advertising program that can be enabled anytime at no cost directly through Blogger) and found that they were making about $ 10 a day just for blowing off steam at work. Yes, it is not much, but it is an additional $ 300 a month!

Another was a small Maui coffee growers association that simply wanted a place where they could include their contact information, links to their main websites, and a little information about coffee growing in Maui. (And there are some surprisingly cool things about it too!) The site ended up attracting new customers to all the coffee companies listed on the blog! Just because they became accessible, they won customers they never would have had.

I guess my point is that you really don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on your website. Sites change and people want them to! I check most of my websites almost twice a year just because I get bored with them! So why spend tons of money on something that you’re just going to change anyway?

Get started easily, with a fast, powerful, and free blog that you have complete control over. This way you can always use it to drive people to your new website when you are ready to build your main site. You can’t go wrong. You don’t spend a penny, and all you do in the process is learn blogging and internet marketing. Both will save you a great deal of money when you finally have your own website built.
