Closure of cultural venues: Belgian artists occupy the National Theater

LThe timing is not chosen at random: at the time when the federal government meets for a consultation committee, which is feared that it will shower the hopes of flexibility, especially with regard to cultural activity, artists have decided to occupy the National Theater. Like Antigone defying the laws of Creon, these rebels, carried by the feeling of a flagrant injustice, brandish moral revolt to defend fundamental human rights against the reason of state. In the role of a blind Creon? A political power that takes unilateral measures, for example allowing non-essential businesses to remain open but forcing theaters and cinemas to remain closed, while the latter present less health risks. Would Mediamarkt and Ikea be more useful for the well-being of the population than dance, circus, music, cinema or theater?
