Could this be your life purpose? The nurse

“You are here to participate in bonds of mutual support with other people, whether it is your blood family of origin or the support network of friends, colleagues and acquaintances that you surround yourself with in your adult life.” – Ronelle Coburn Destiny at your fingertips: discover the inner purpose of your life and what it takes to live it?

Are you a nurse?

This article is the first in a series on finding your purpose called “Could This Be Your Life Purpose?”

You can find out what your purpose is by having your palms read. Contrary to popular opinion, hand analysis will not predict your future. Richard Unger, the author of lifeprintscreated this hand analysis system and founded the International Institute of Hand Analysis.

The nurse…

The caregiver, or the person with a family life purpose, is happiest creating and nurturing close connections with others. If you are a family builder, you are the glue that connects your family, your communities, or your tribe. You are the hub of the wheel in your groups.

Possible challenges…

(1) Being a loner, choosing to avoid close connections.

(2) Family drama: conflict, disappointments, strained relationships in your family or community.

(3) Unresolved family problems from childhood, such as abuse, alcoholism, or family dysfunction.

(4) Codependency: being the caretaker of others, but neglecting yourself.

(5) Difficulty letting go of control, not letting others be who they are. Wanting to insist that they think and react like you.

(6) Allowing people in your life to mistreat you in some way.

Journal questions…

(1) What are some examples of the breeder’s purpose in your life? Identify two or three and write them down here.

(2) Can you think of times when you experience the opposite of this energy? For example, do you tend to do it alone in a self-protective way?

(3) Do you find yourself dealing with family drama or drama in your community groups?

(4) Do you have unresolved family of origin issues?

(5) Do you find yourself taking better care of others than yourself? List some examples.

(6) Are you in a relationship or other situation where you allow other people to mistreat you?

(7) Do you have difficulty letting go of control? Make a list of examples you can think of where you wanted to insist that someone think like you, etc.

(8) To what extent do you think you inhabit awareness of this life purpose on a daily basis? Give it a rating on a scale of 1 to 10.

(9) To what extent are you able to integrate the energy of the nurse with the work you do?

(10) What do you think prevents you from fully inhabiting the purpose of the breeder?

(11) What can you do to inhabit it more?

If you answered “yes” to many of the journal questions and can recall experiences that match the description of this life purpose, then you may be a caregiver.
