Job skips and unemployment payments can ruin your resume

Finding a job has become increasingly difficult because the resume police of many companies are often looking for more reasons not to hire than good candidates to fill the positions. It is a change caused by the realization that many companies have a serious problem of employee productivity. This problem is more of a social disease than a matter of business concern.

Employees in entry-level positions often fail to understand the fact that everything they do is reflected both in their work history and in their ability to move up the corporate ladder. Although they don’t qualify for any better, they can feel underpaid and less appreciated. So they hide in the bathroom and text, check email, and even play games on their phone. They are part of the “give me money and leave me alone” crowd.

People look at the huge volume of job openings online and believe that they can always find another job. In many cases, the employment history section of your resume proves that point. To make matters worse, many have spent only a few weeks or months on the jobs they have listed without realizing what a huge red flag it is for future employers. Example: if a Temp is disabled on Thanksgiving or Christmas, you will not be paid anything for those days. Others will not pay more for time to work on those holidays.

Another big mistake job seekers make is working long enough to qualify for unemployment payments. That’s another red flag for employers. And don’t expect them to buy the old excuse: “If I had a serious job, I’d take it seriously.” The work you do at any level shows your work ethic. Regarding unemployment benefits; The longer you receive them, the worse it will look to potential employers. No one is going to list the fact that they received unemployment on their resume. However, the time between jobs will allow potential employers to figure it out for themselves.
