Whenever people wonder what they should eat to gain muscle fast, the most likely answer is “just eat more.” But this answer is wrong! You can’t just eat more and expect to gain muscle because if you eat more of the wrong types of food, you’ll get fat and not have any more muscle.

So what should you eat if you want to gain weight and maintain the same body fat percentage?

Here is an idea of ​​what you should have in your kitchen:

For protein: chicken breasts, lean meats, eggs, nuts, nonfat milk, and whey protein.

For carbohydrates: potatoes, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread, vegetables, fruits and oatmeal.

For fats: fish oil supplements, olive oil, canola oil, and avocados.

If you feel that it is impossible for you to gain weight, it is simply because you are not eating enough of the foods that I mentioned before. As a starting point, you should eat 20 calories per pound of body weight and 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. If after two weeks your weight hasn’t increased, simply add 500 calories to your daily meal plan. Repeat if after 2 weeks you don’t see any change.

It is also very important that you distribute your calories by eating 4 to 6 meals a day. Trust me, eating too many calories at one time can be problematic. Also, if you eat 2 in one sitting, you will end up increasing the amount of body fat you carry.

It is of the utmost importance that you also train properly if you want to gain muscle, otherwise most of the weight you gain will be fat.
