WoW Druid Macro for a Resto Druid build

A druid is a very difficult class to play, and with all the different roles, the sheer number of skills at your disposal can become overwhelming. Using a WoW druid macro, or several, can help simplify action bars and save precious time that can prevent the entire raid from being wiped.

As a rest druid, every second counts when trying to keep your raid alive. Using macros can literally cut your targeting and streaming time in half, simply because you’re eliminating unnecessary steps. Here are two examples of simple WoW druid macros for a raid restore druid.

focus macros – This is usually your tank. You can take this and apply it to any spell in your book and really for any spec, but it works best for tank healing. The reason is that you have to constantly keep an eye on the tank and make sure Lifebloom is running three stacks, always. I place this macro on my number 1 key and make sure it is constantly running on my focus target at all times.

/to emit [target=focus] Flower of life

Using this WoW druid macro can save you from accidentally casting Lifebloom on one of your other raid members. Since you can only have Lifebloom on one target at a time, you need to make sure it stays in the tank. The exception is when you use Tree of Life Form and Lifebloom is upgraded to cast on an unlimited number of targets. In that case, you may want a second type of Macro.

Macros on hover – This can save you much more time than you think. Without having to select a target, just hover over your target character or mark her on the party screen. In a big pull or long fight, this can save you a few dozen or even a hundred clicks of your mouse, which can actually save you vital cast time. Essentially this can be adapted to any spell in your book, and should be. In fact, I’ve repeated this spell macro for Lifebloom, Rejuvenation, Recrowth, Nourish, Healing Touch, Swiftmend, and even some offensive and CC spells like Cyclone and Roots.

/to emit [target=mouseover,help,nodead][help][target=player] rejuvenation

These are just a few examples of what you can do with Resto Druid Macros. In fact, the possibilities are limitless. These two macros can even be applied to feral DPS, Tanking, or Balance. You’ll have to customize some, but you can imagine how incredibly useful they would be in all the different druid guises.

The best World of Warcraft players use macros and key bindings to optimize their performance in raids, PvP, and even solo. However, macros can be confusing, and if you have the wrong letter in its place, the entire macro breaks. I use a macro and keybinding tool that has all the best macros so you don’t have to spend hours poring over these confusing pieces of code.
